FAQ: Beta? What is a beta?
What is a Beta? A beta is a pre-release test of a game. This is when the Developer needs your help to squish any game bugs. This is pre-demo as well. So it is in fact the rawest form of the game. Keep your expectations in check. It is by no means meant to exemplify what you can expect in the actual game. You are being called upon to do a job, to intentionally break the game so they can ensure the final product is the best it can be! This is also why we encourage you to comply with the requests of the Developer. They need you to help them test, not just demo the game and judge. It's time to help your fellow gamers and give it your all! How can I receive news about betas on FilePlanet first! Get in on the FilePlanet betas! Exclusives for Subscribers, previews, tests, and the occasional alpha! I am subscribed, does this mean I am automatically in all betas? All betas have a sign up/ Being subscribed does not sign you up. Some need qualifying in other ways such as hardware. So first you must sign up on the specific beta's sign up page. Subscribers get first chance at the beta. Also most betas have a limited number of slots or keys. These are first come first serve regardless of subscriber status. So make sure you sign up fast when you see a beta you like! What do you mean by Exclusive? In most instances this means that FilePlanet has the exclusive opportunity to offer only FilePlanet members a chance to play a demo, test a beta etc…. Many times something is a Subscriber Only exclusive as well. This means that it is exclusive to FilePlanet Subscribers only. Subscribe and get your Subscriber exclusives too! Are there any restrictions on these betas? Sometimes there are. Please read the introduction page and all following pages carefully when signing up. Some betas may have system requirements, age or geographic location restrictions. Remember, these rules are not governed by FilePlanet so we can't help you go around the rules. Sign up carefully!
